American Airlines celebrates experience and expertise, honors team members with 45 years of service

This week, American Airlines honored team members celebrating at least 45 years of service and 35 or more years for pilots (due to the mandatory retirement age). These special team members have contributed nearly 11,000 years of experience to the airline. More than 230 team members and their guests attended the special event, which included dinner, dancing and entertainment from music legend Tony Orlando.



American and TSA launch two automated screening lanes at Chicago O’Hare

As the holiday travel period quickly approaches, American Airlines , the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Chicago Department of Aviation have collaborated to launch two automated security screening lanes in Terminal 3 at Chicago O’Hare. These lanes, funded by American, incorporate technology and screening station modifications that enhance security effectiveness while decreasing the time travelers spend in security screening.



Envoy Returns to the Big Apple

Envoy Air Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines Group that operates American Eagle flights, announced that it will re-open New York’s LaGuardia International Airport (LGA) as a base of operations, beginning in early 2017. American Airlines names Alison Taylor Senior Vice President – Global Sales

American Airlines (NASDAQ:AAL) today announced the appointment of Alison Taylor to Senior Vice President – Global Sales. Taylor will be joining American later this month from Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide where she most recently served in a similar role. SHe has built and led world-class sales teams throughout her career.



United Airlines expands its leadership team and names Scott Kirby as president

The same day American Airlines announced the appointment of Robert Isom as the airline´s new president replacing Scott Kirby, United Continental Holdings, Inc. (UAL) revealed its own move, saying that Scott Kirby was named president of United Airlines. The move is surprising, as senior executives of major U.S. airlines rarely go from one airline directly to another.



American Airlines Group names Robert Isom as president

American Airlines Group Inc. (Nasdaq:AAL) today announced that Chief Operating Officer Robert Isom will become president, effective immediately. In his new role, Isom, 52, will report to Chairman and CEO Doug Parker, 54. “Robert is a world-class executive, and extremely well-qualified to assume the role of president,” said Chairman and CEO Doug Parker. Isom succeeds J. Scott Kirby.
